Artist Statement

My abstract work explores color, form, and texture as vessels for emotion and memory. Through deliberate yet intuitive brushstrokes, I build layered compositions that reflect moments of movement, pause, and transformation. Each mark is both intentional and responsive, allowing the painting to evolve through process rather than a predetermined outcome.

Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I am also a mother to a daughter, and the quiet rituals of our daily life—particularly bedtime stories—inform my practice in subtle but meaningful ways. The cadence of storytelling, the space between words, and the comfort found in repetition influence how I approach rhythm, layering, and flow within my work. Much like a story unfolding, each piece develops over time, revealing meaning through accumulation rather than clarity.

My paintings resist fixed narratives, inviting viewers to engage intuitively and form their own emotional connections. Through abstraction, I seek to create spaces that feel both intimate and open—where memory, imagination, and presence coexist.
